Work-related Conversations

Below is a conversation between someone looking for a job and a
business owner. Listen to the conversation and read along.

A.    May I talk to the manager?
B.    Yes. I am the manager.  What could I do for you?
A.    I saw your help wanted sign in the window.  Can you tell me what position you have open?
B.    Yes.  We’re looking for a stock clerk.
A.    I’d like to apply.
B.    Have you worked as a stock clerk before?
A.    No, I haven’t, but I am sure I could learn quickly.
B.    Hmmm.  We need a person who can take inventory.
A.    Well, I haven’t taken inventory before, but with a little training, I’m sure that I could do a good job.
B.    Okay.  Here’s an application form.  You can sit over there and fill it out.
A.    Thanks very much.

If you have no questions about the conversation, it’s time to record it with your partner.
One of you will be Person A and one will be Person B. You may record it as many times as you like.
